Fly Fishing Rods

What’s the deal with this fly rod?

Posted by admin on Thursday, February 25th, 2010

Pardon my ignorance, but I have come to own a fly fishing rod and know next to nothing about fly fishing. The rod is a two-piece Fenwick IronFeather with IF 904 9′ #4 written near the grip. Is this rod collectable…expensive…what? Thanks for the help and, again, sorry for my ignorance on this subject.

if stands for iron feather 904 (model number) nine foot length, set up for number 4 line Some fenwicks are very valuable and some are just rods, try doing a google to determine value

As stated by PPP, it is a 9′ rod for 4 wt line. It is a very good rod.
Quite suitable for almost all trout applications. The rod has a value of about $125 in very good condition

That’s a nice reasonably priced rod you have there, as mentioned by PT, you should get about $100+ if its in good condition, if not the amount you get will drop, try taking up fly fishing, its a good rod to learn with.
