I think Airflow is right as choosing a flyrod is a very personal experience and will depend entirely on your established style of fishing.
Of course, like everything else, it’s going to come down to what you’re willing to spend. I find a 6-8 weight rod pretty versatile for a bunch of different situations, and here’s a pretty good shootout between them.

I have used cheap rods and expensive rods and caught marvelous fish on both kinds. In the end, it is your presentation and retrieval that does the deed. I use a Fenwick 2.5 ounce rod with 5 line and 2# test leaders for Brookies and go to a 4# test leader for the big boys like Wyoming Browns and Yellowstone Cutthroats. It’s all in your technique and patience. My reel is a lightweight little cheapie but the trout don’t know the difference. Some people spend 10 times what I do for equipment, but don’t catch the kind of fish i routinely take. Don’t become a high priced snobbish gear junkie, just get some reasonably good stuff and learn how to use it.

The best fly rod comparison website is http://www.fly-rods.net. You can read all the fly rod reviews you want on this site. It is user generated and unbiased and you can review fly fishing rods in complete detail. Overtime the site should improve as more people post their favorite fly rod online.
