I know that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to this answer, as every venue is uniquely different, however is there one or two names of flies/lures that come up consistently time and time again on the catch record of stillwater fly fishing venues around the UK where you fish perhaps?

i started flyfishing and i bought a few leaders but now they are to short to use. can i take tippet of the same size and tie it on to the leader but or do i have to use tippet when the leader is its whole 7.5 ft long?? need master anglers help
