I’ve always heard of people flyfishing for redfish, speckled trout, stripers, etc. (by the way the river I fish is predominantly speckled trout and redfish). Flyfishing looks fun so I found a good rod and reel for a good price, but I need some flies.

Google and Youtube has helped solve a lot of my questions in saltwater flyfishing. BUT I can’t seem to find out what size fly would be good. I typically fish in spin tackle with hooks around the 2/0 to 4/0 sizes. But all these websites and stores have flys in the 1 to 4 sizes OR a 1/0 to 3/0. So what would be good for regular flies? shrimp imitations? poppers?

And any tips and pointers would be great too. Give me your email or myspace. Love talking to fisherman about the sport.
