Alaska rainbow trout are insatiable feeders, and the Kenai is a perfect, plentiful habitat for these fish. A 10-pound rainbow trout is not uncommon, and monsters of more than 20 pounds have been caught in this world renowned river. The Guides of Drift Away Fishing are experts at finding those sweet spots for catching trophies while preserving and respecting this precious resource for a healthy, native population of Alaska rainbow trout. We strive to treat our Trout with care and respect. Small barb less hooks, rubber nets and safe handling practices are just a few measures Drift Away Fishing takes to ensure a safe release for the fish. We will gladly help you get a photo and accurate length and girth measurement of your Kenai Rainbow Trout. This way you go home with a great photo and memory while the fish stay in the river to be enjoyed by another angler another day.

See more @ www.theflysyndicate.com Finally, the big one that didn’t get away. I started recording about a minute or two into the fight, I missed a couple of huge aerials but got a few other good jumps on tape. I’m winded cause I had to chase this guy before he stood and fought. Big browns are to be expected on the Truckee, but big bows are a treat! Got this guy in Reno…in town; I get lazy sometimes and just fish the closest holes, but then again, why go to the CA side when there are 2-foot long fish right in town!
