Boredstiffon 03 Mar 2010 at 11:07 pm 31. You need to have your leader attached to your flyline.(this can be done in many ways) Check out this site it will help you.)

2. Find out what the fish are feeding on in your area. The hatch (It varies by season. You can go to your local fly shop and get some good ideas as to what is going on in your waters or look on the Internet for fishing reports)
3. Be patient. Stealthy and Do NOT FRUSTRATED.
4. Have fun and Good luck

Generally, you need backing, your fly line (I prefer a double tappered line to the weight forward lines), and but section with a loop at the end so you can attach leaders to it. A fly shop should be able to help you with getting all of that attached with the proper knots.
If you want to do it yourself, there are lots of places to look on the web.
