El135oon 30 Dec 2009 at 5:58 pm 9My fly fishign instructor taught me to cast by keeping a $50 bill under my casting arm. If I didn’t keep my arm tight in, he said, the accuracy was lost, as well as the $50 he made me put under my arm!
I learned very, very fast that keeping the casting arm in is proper technique. The old guys know best!

OutdoorExpeditionson 30 Dec 2009 at 7:47 pm 14Yeah I just fished a couple of holes on this river near Seely, no luck fly fishing though. I did manage to pull out a good sized Brown on a gold husky jerk! It looks like we might have fished some of the same holes.
OutdoorExpeditionson 30 Dec 2009 at 8:19 pm 15I fished a couple of holes above Seely this weekend, and pulled out a nice Brown, there was a mayfly hatch. It was my first time on this river. I had no luck while I was fly fishing it though.

mnflyfishingon 30 Dec 2009 at 11:51 pm 22Yep, the Kinnie is a nice river to fly fish, lots of fish in that river. I usually fish the Willow when I’m in that general area, another nice river.
mnflyfishingon 31 Dec 2009 at 12:17 am 23These are meat and potato kind of trout, bigger offerings throughout the summer.
mnflyfishingon 31 Dec 2009 at 12:42 am 24There are trout throughout the entire river, but try working above Hayward.
flyfishermandave24on 31 Dec 2009 at 1:17 am 25Yeah the “kinnie” is a great river and my friend got a nice 17″ the last time we fished it.
