My fly fishign instructor taught me to cast by keeping a $50 bill under my casting arm. If I didn’t keep my arm tight in, he said, the accuracy was lost, as well as the $50 he made me put under my arm!

I learned very, very fast that keeping the casting arm in is proper technique. The old guys know best!

Yeah I just fished a couple of holes on this river near Seely, no luck fly fishing though. I did manage to pull out a good sized Brown on a gold husky jerk! It looks like we might have fished some of the same holes.

I fished a couple of holes above Seely this weekend, and pulled out a nice Brown, there was a mayfly hatch. It was my first time on this river. I had no luck while I was fly fishing it though.

Yep, the Kinnie is a nice river to fly fish, lots of fish in that river. I usually fish the Willow when I’m in that general area, another nice river.

These are meat and potato kind of trout, bigger offerings throughout the summer.

  24. mnflyfishingon 31 Dec 2009 at 12:42 am 24

There are trout throughout the entire river, but try working above Hayward.

Yeah the “kinnie” is a great river and my friend got a nice 17″ the last time we fished it.
