Beginning Fly Fishing And Need Gear?

Posted by admin on Monday, November 30th, 2009

i have recently become interested in the sport of fly fishing, and need a rod. i am willing to spend a total of $115 for the whole set up. I use the rod to catch eastern trout, blue gills, and the occasional bass if possible. If not for only blue gills, and Eastern trout. I am very new and need some advice on what rod to pick. Please leave links to rods and gear thanks!

Search the yahoo search engine on this site for questions relating to fly fishing outfits- there are hundreds, most of them asking the exact same thing as you with the same budget range. Most of them are recent and suggest what line ratings to get and have links to outfits on cabelas, bass pro shops and KMD tackle.

Check out cabela’s or gander mountain. They will have what you need.

To fish with a good rod is to really enjoy fishing. It is much easier to learn with a good rod than with one of an inferior quality. This is no commercial plug to encourage the sale of expensive rods, but just a word of warning to prevent any possible or unnecessary discouragement because of using a rod that would be decided handicap to a competent caster.
